  • Day 1: Arrival day Östersund

    Welcome to Östersund, the heart of the Republic of Jämtland! A summer town with a unique charm. Along the shores of Lake Storsjön, you'll be greeted by a vibrant atmosphere, where the city's character is reflected in its rich selection of restaurants – many offering flavors directly inspired by the forests and lakes of Jämtland.   • Day 2: Östersund-Arvidsjaur

    In the morning you board our train at Östersund Västra. It is a 400 metre walk from Clarion Hotel Grand Östersund. See map. You are traveling north along Inlandsbanan, passing shimmering lakes, wildlife-rich forests, and small villages. You will have a lunch stop at the award-winning Bergmans Fisk & Vilt. The day's final destination is Arvidsjaur, a place where culture, history and wilderness meet. You will arrive in Arvidsjaur in the afternoon. It's a 1 km walk from the station to Hotell Laponia.   • Day 3: Arvidsjaur-Jokkmokk

    The morning is free for your own activities. We recommend a walk to the local heritage center, where you can enjoy a coffee or take a guided tour (booking in advance required).
    In the afternoon, you’ll board the Inlandsbanan train heading north—be sure to bring food for the journey or pre-order a meal delivery to the train. During the trip, you’ll experience classic Inlandsbanan stops such as the Navvy museum in Moskosel and the Arctic Circle. You will travel through the UNESCO World Heritage site Laponia.
    You’ll arrive in Jokkmokk in the evening. Jokkmokk is rich in Sámi culture and history. Here, new discoveries and unique experiences await you in the heart of Swedish Lapland. It's a 800-meter walk to hotell Jokkmokk. See map.

  • Day 4: Jokkmokk-Gällivare

    Today, you have the opportunity to explore everything Jokkmokk has to offer. Start your day with a visit to Ájtte – the Swedish Mountain and Sámi Museum, where you can immerse yourself in Sámi culture. Admission fee is included in your package. It's a 800-meter walk from the hotel. See map.
    We also recommend a visit to Jokkmokks Tenn where you can see high-quality craftsmanship, where tradition meets modern design. Connect with nature on a stroll through the beautiful Arctic Alpine Botanical Garden, an oasis filled with Arctic plants and inspiration from Jokkmokks surrounding wilderness.     In the evening you will board the Inlandsbanan train that takes you to Gällivare. This is one of the most scenic routes along Inlandsbanan, you travel through national parks and nature reserves. Upon arrival, Grand Hotel Lapland is conveniently located next to the railway station in Gällivare.

  • Day 5: Gällivare-Narvik

    In the morning, the journey continues by train past Kiruna, and you travel along Malmbanan heading towards Abisko National Park where you can see the iconic Lapporten. Soon, you'll reach the Swedish-Norwegian border, and after a scenic train ride of about 4.5 hours, you'll arrive in Narvik.

    When the train arrives in Narvik, you'll disembark in a town surrounded by magnificent nature and rich history. It's a 400 meter walk from the train station to Quality Hotel Grand Royal. See map.

  • Day 6: Full day in Narvik

    Discover Narvik on this full day in the realm of fjords and mountains! Start by taking the cable car up to Narvikfjellet, where you’ll be greeted by breathtaking views of fjords and peaks—perfect for a coffee break with a panoramic view or a gentle hike in the mountains. Or delve into the town’s history at the Narvik War Museum, which portrays dramatic events from World War II and life in northern Norway.     End your day with dinner at one of Narvik’s many restaurants, with local flavors from the sea and mountains.

  • Day 7: Narvik-Harstad

    In the morning, your transfer will pick you up from the hotel for a scenic drive of approximately two hours. You’ll be dropped off at your accommodation in Harstad, beautifully located by Vågsfjorden. Here, you’ll find pittoresque harbor districts and small shops. Visit Trondenes Historical Center or take a stroll along the coastline with a backdrop of majestic mountains.     In the evening, enjoy local delicacies at one of the city's restaurants, where local flavors create unforgettable culinary experiences.

  • Day 8: Hurtigruten and Lofoten

    In the morning you board Hurtigruten. It's a 700 meter walk from Clarion Collection Hotel Arcticus to Hurtigruten criuse terminal. See map. Hurtigruten enters Trollfjorden to turn around, which gives you the opportunity to marvel at the spectacular nature scenery. The ferry later takes a stop at Svolvær in the centre of Lofoten. Take the opportunity to get off the boat and explore Lofoten on your own. If you want an excursion you need to book in advance.

  • Day 9: Hurtigruten and De Syv Söstre

    Today you will cruise along Helgeland coastline with more than 1,000 islands and numerous ­fishing hamlets. In the morning you will cross the Arctic Circle for the 2nd time on this trip, now on your way south. You will pass by the Seven Sisters – seven beautiful mountain tops that are 1,000 meters tall.

  • Day 10: Trondheim-Östersund

    Early in the morning, you arrive in Trondheim. This gives you a full day to explore the city. There are luggage lockers at Trondheim Central Station. It’s a 1.2 km walk from Hurtigruten’s cruise terminal to the Central Station. See map. While you’re there, take the opportunity to visit the majestic Nidaros Cathedral and the fishing harbor Ravnkloa before the train departs for Östersund in the afternoon. For more tips and inspiration, Visit Trondheim. The train to Östersund takes about 4 hours and has a train switch in Storlien. You will arrive in Östersund in the evening. The journey ends where it once began, in Östersund. Here, by the shores of Lake Storsjö, you’ll spend your final night at a hotel in the heart of the city. Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, take an evening stroll along the water, or discover some of the town’s cozy restaurants before unwinding in the comfortable hotel surroundings.

    Östersund, with its beautiful mountains and lakes, offers the perfect conclusion to a trip full of adventure and unforgettable experiences.
